Day 6 - October 16, 2019
Another day in Zion! We rode our bikes to the park this morning then got on the park shuttle with our bikes and got off at the end of the line. Then rode back downhill, all 10+ miles of it. It was great! No cars, no people, weather was perfect... what more could we ask for.
At the Big Bend area, we were able to see a pair of California Condors in flight. Unfortunately they were not posing for pictures....
At Weeping Rock, all the trails were closed because of a 'minor' rockslide. Two or three weeks ago a 100' x 60' x 10+' thick chunk of rock broke loose and came down the 2000' face. The main canyon road was even closed briefly. It's a good thing it happened at night!
If you are able to zoom this picture to the circled area you will see a pair of climbers. Bethany and Nick might be able to identify this route...
The trail to Angels Landing is rated as one of the more strenuous hikes, but while we watched we saw many brave souls taking the route up to a fabulous viewpoint.
Zion is reported to have the third highest number of visitors of all the National Parks, and the peak season runs into November. Being able to navigate the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive on our bikes was without a doubt the highlight of our visit here.
We walked into town for dinner and stopped into several of the MANY galleries. One that definitely deserves a shameless plug is David J West, Photographer:

His work is excellent!
Tomorrow we're off to new adventures in and around Bryce Canyon.
