Day 14 - October 24, 2019

We went to bed last night with a lot of smoke in the air, and got up this morning to a nice breeze, clear air and a puddle of water running across the floor.  Hmmm, probably not related.

Bob and his trusty screwdriver quickly determined there was a slow leak from a fitting on the hot water heater and also quickly determined he didn’t want to deal with it.  Not to worry, I had noticed a RV/diesel repair shop when we turned off the highway.  One hour and $125 later everything is as good as new.   We have not experienced many problems with Wilbur that Bob hasn’t been able to resolve.  On two mornings while we were in the Utah area, Wilbur’s turbo didn’t want to kick in.  I think he was protesting the cold.  Probably won’t be the end of that but for now all is good.  One night I showered and when I shut the water off on the shower head, it wouldn’t turn back on.  Of course I had shampoo on my head!  Bob to the rescue!  He took the shower head off and I used a stream of water to finish showering.   Somehow the button on the shower head started working again and he put it back on.  Not only does it work but the shower head doesn’t have the slow drip it has always had... “healed”!

After the morning repairs were complete we headed off to Walmart.  I was looking for a dirty clothes remedy.  When we loaded the RV with the clean clothes all neat and tidy, they end up getting dirty and then hang in a laundry bag that gets too big and heavy for the wardrobe closet.  Bob wouldn’t agree to throwing them in the trash and buying new, so I found a hamper to set in the shower that will keep the clothes from getting wet if the shower decides to leak again. With that done and groceries purchased and stored, we were off on the 18 mile journey to Sedona.

I think we have finally gotten the memo that Arizona puts direction signs a block or so “prior” to the turn or street.  There are no directional signs at the actual turn.  Knowing this will help actually find the street once we get to it and not pass it because we think there will be another sign. Experience.. it's wonderful!

We arrived at our destination, Rancho Sedona RV Resort (Thanks Nick!), a very nice spot that borders Oak Creek and is within walking distance of town.  We are all settled in for a few days.

The weather is beautiful and we walked into “uptown” Sedona.  Bob swears it is a mile and he's probably right but I’m pretty sure his miles are off, just saying.  We walked back, did laundry, ate left overs that were just as good as last night and are done for the day.  Looking forward to a few days of staying put and exploring.. more to come.
